A quick explanation to understand your tire size.
What do those numbers and letters mean on the side of my tire? We're going to break it down for you so that it is less confusing.
First there is the tire width. This number represents your tire's width. The higher the number, the wider the tire. Easy right?
Second is your tire profile. The tire profile number represents the height of the tire's sidewall. The lower the number, the shorter the sidewall.
Third is the rim size. This number has to match your rim size. Example: You can put a 19 inch tire on an 18 inch rim.
Fourth is your tire speed rating. This is usually a letter that determines the optimal speed that the tire can safely maintain. Anything over this rating and it no longer performs as designed.
Now there you have it. A quick breakdown of how to read your tire size. If you found this to be helpful please leave us a comment.
