If you think you're not seen in the day, try night riding.
If you think cars don't see you in the day, then why would you ride a motorcycle at night with dim or no lighting? I have come across this situation all to much, a motorcycle with no tail light on, a headlight that is so dim or small it couldn't possibly be doing much good and then my favorite, the tail light mounted on one side close to the ground. My great grand mother use to say, our time is coming but you can push that date up. Now let's add dark clothing and helmet, if they have one, to the mix. In my opinion this is a recipe for disaster.
I've seen many of these novelty lights riders put on their bikes and yes, they may look cool when your bike is parked somewhere but that isn't going to help you on a dark road. Even if you don't have these vanity lights on your motorcycles you should still be constantly checking that your lights and brake lights are working properly. This doesn't take long to do and could possibly save you from a disaster. An investment in good lighting is a good investment. Have fun, be safe.
