Parking and trailering your bike.

A few tips that could save you a lot of money.

When parking your bike pay attention to the ground that you are parking on. Many a rider has parked their machine only to come back and find it on the ground. Talk about something that will make your heart drop. Looking at your precious machine helpless on it's side on the ground. The culprit, soft ground. Grass, dirt, hot asphalt are the most common ones.

But there is help. A cheap but effective remedy is a motorcycle kickstand pad. These are worth their weight in gold if it prevents your motorcycle from toppling over.

Another culprit is parking your bike in neutral. Don't worry you are not going to hurt your transmission by leaving it in gear. I've heard the excuse, I don't want to hurt my transmission so I leave it in neutral when trailering it. Well would you prefer a strap let go and your motorcycle roll off the back of your pickup or trailer? Transmissions aren't that fragile. If they were there would be transmission failures on motorcycles all the time. Just a few things to keep in mind when parking or trailering your machine. Have fun, be safe.
