They don't always do what they intend to do.
We all have intentions but do we always follow through with them? Of course the answer is no so don't think it applies any differently to motorist.
I was behind a car when the driver put on their signal indicating they were going to make a left hand turn. They even slowed down and moved slightly to the left of the lane, further insuring me that they were going to follow through with their intention to turn left. As I proceeded to move to their right to pass and keep straight, Bam! They decided they didn't want to turn and continued straight almost sideswiping me in the process. What went wrong?
Now this didn't happen to me because I don't trust signal lights and other gestures but it did happen to someone. Let's review it. They were going to turn left and then they forgot something and needed to go straight. They believe they changed their mind so quick that nobody could of possible tried to pass them on their right that fast. By that time you were in their blind spot and even if they did look, they probably missed you anyway. Lesson learned? Stay calm and wait until the vehicle turns and is no longer a danger to you. Never assume anything while riding. Have fun, be safe.
