There's lots of talk about the friction zone but what else isn't being said.
The friction zone. The point between the clutch being disengaged to engaged. As you probably have already figured out this maneuver is a combination of timing, throttle and clutch release. This will work perfect if all factors are perfect, but we all know sometimes that isn't the case. If you're a new rider and are having difficulty with this maneuver you may want to let an experienced rider check your bike out for you. Sometimes it isn't you that's the problem. I won't get into too much detail here because you would have to be mechanically inclined to understand it. But a clutch consists of many moving parts. If any of these parts are damaged you will never be able to do the friction zone process smoothly. Also carburetors, tuning and heat can also affect this process. If your motorcycle has a low end stumble or just isn't tuned right, it's not going to act right. Extreme heat and cold will also play factors in how your motorcycle responds. As a new rider this will affect your confidence. In our forums you can post your videos of you riding and your video can be critiqued by experienced riders. We're here to help you so take advantage of the many options we have on our website for you. As always, have fun and be safe. #motorcyclesafety #motorcycles #bikelife #bikerlife #newbie
So important. If you have ever done a big bike rally you will see the guys "riding the plank." The guy with the slowest time wins. These guys understand the friction zone. Some bikes are lower geared than others and that makes it much easier to enter that zone. I can do it :)
