You will eventually get chased by a dog. What to do?
Now this is a tough one. I've researched this but there is very little info on what to do if a dog starts to chase you on your motorcycle so we will be looking for suggestions. If you're boxed in traffic you're screwed. If your path is clear speeding up usually solves the problem. The fastest dog I have ever clocked was 25 mph. But if speeding up isn't an option, this is where tall leather boots help. In the instance that the dog does go to bite your leg, a good pair of tall leather boots can prevent a trip to the emergency room for a dog bite or worse. One trick I have used many times and amazingly it has worked is to just stop. If you're lucky the dog isn't looking at you as meals on wheels. Most dogs are excited more about the chase than you so once you stop you're no more fun. This is something that hasn't happened to me very often but if you live in an area where everyone let's their dog run free then it could be a daily occurrence for you. Either way don't fixate your vision on the dog. Better to take the dog bite that run into a car. Have fun, be safe.
