Assuming things while riding a motorcycle can get you hurt. Never assume. Some people think that they blow their horn or that their bike is loud that miraculously the world bows to their commands. Well, what if they didn't hear you? I haven't spoken to Elon Musk lately but I'm pretty sure his cars don't respond to horn blowing or loud noises. Now before you say, what are the chances that I run into a deaf motorist or autonomous car, I say do you really want to take that chance? This is why we don't assume and leave our fate to someone or something else while riding a motorcycle. This is probably just good advice no matter what you do in life.
Now I know this probably isn't going to change those who are set in their ways or people who feel like they've been riding twenty years and never got hit. What I say about this is, never confuse luck with knowledge.
