ATGATT: All the gear all the time. I'm answering someone's request to address this. I have addressed this before in other articles but I am going to be direct with this one. Unless someone is specifically asking for advice on riding gear, don't shame or force your personal opinions on them about it. We help, not force people to do the right things. Everyone has the laws from their area that they have to adhere to so leave it to law enforcement to do their job. Everyone here is an adult and if not they should be listening to their parents. When I have to personally reach out to a young woman who someone has shamed and ridiculed so bad that she has lost any confidence she had and is contemplating quitting, that's enough. If all you have is horror stories and graphic crash scenes to offer, don't. We're here to help, not tell people what to do. We help people to make the right decisions on their own, it's their responsibility, don't forget that. And anyone with anything smart to say, save it, it doesn't help.
