New rider here. Great overview - certainly makes you think more about the importance of road awareness as well as understanding that getting the miles in is crucial to building confidence and becoming very aware of the bike you ride and how it handles. Be safe out there
I am new brand new to riding always been the passenger and loved it. I just turned 57 in August and bought my own bike a rebel of course. Teaching myself through you tube videos. I have stalled out, layed it over but I get back on. My fear is shifting gears I have not been to the parking lot to ride this has taken place on own property. Do I take a class right away, or do I wait ? While I think there is much to learn I need the basics first. Thanks
Take a hands on course as soon as possible! Learning good habits is always best! Odds are if you are staying in a confined area, you are not truly learning just wasting time! But sooner or later you have to either get out there or sell the darn thing! The adventure is off your property!

I would take the course. The course with hands on training may give you a better grasp of the fundamentals that a video may not be able to offer.
