This forum should be a great place for new riders to talk to each other and also to see how skillful motorcyclists got that way. Motorcycle Skills are my passion. About Me: First motorcycles owned and used for primary transportation back in 1968 while in the Navy in Homestead, Florida. When I left active duty, I sold my beloved Honda CB-350. Didn't touch another motorcycle until early 2003, 32 years later. Visited the local Harley dealership and walked out the proud owner of a Dyna Wide Glide. I promised my wife that I would learn everything there is to know about safe motorcycling. A few months later, I discovered that I wasn't as safe as I thought. I was super-careful; but didn't have any proper motorcycle handling skills. A certified motorcop instructor befriended me and began to teach me PROPER and proven motorcycle skills. Eventually, I passed the 80 hour motorcycle skills course that he gave to me and three others. Had to go the Kansas for the class. Even though I had a hundred thousand miles on motorcycles, this class was where I actually learned the proper, skillful way to ride a motorcycle. It was a struggle; but I decided to be totally open-minded about the subject. If my motorcop instructor pointed out a bad habit, I dedicated myself to changing it. When I retired and sold my (unrelated) business, I became a certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation RiderCoach. As a RiderCoach, I worked for 7 years, helping students to qualify for their Motorcycle Endorsement. I took pride in helping students learn the right way to skillfully ride a motorcycle. In my last three years, I dedicated my MSF activities to training "Advanced" riders and only held beginner classes when the company need arose. At least 100 Experienced riders were helped to try to remove bad habits and ride skillfully. As a student, I've paid for and attended 13 formal motorcycle classes to further my skills. My motorcop training continued to the point that I entered many motorcop/civilian skills competitions on my Ultra-Limited. There wasn't any web presence so I also created www.rideskillfully.com. I've worked hard and long to become a skillful motorcycle rider and help others to attain the same. Anything I say on this forum is not "how I do it", or "this is what works for me." To the contrary, I will only post the professional training I've had so others can benefit.
